Here's one more comic FYA!

I have to wake up in 3.5 hours to catch my flight, so I'll keep this short! In the meantime, check this article featuring me and SEAMUS, and incredible cartoonist! THE AAAARRRRTTTIIIIICCCCCLLLLLEEEE (it's mostly about him, haha)

Project Hello

Project Hello was a really awesome thing to be a part of! If I was a good blogger I would have taken pictures and stuff, but I hate/suck-at doing that. I kinda felt out-of-place being there, everyone was 'real' artists talking about their 'installations' and 'ideas' and stuff. I did meet a few really awesome people though, the awesome-ist being Harikrishnan Panicker (or Hari if you don't want to sound like an idiot!) who moved to Denver from India like a year ago and has been CRUSHING IT ever since! You gotta check his awesome portfolio site: THUMB DEMON, he's big-time.

Also, I'm going out-of-town again for a week, so probably no updates until next monday. Later dudes!

Falafel / Pizza

This is going to be the last comic in my second Spinadoodles book! Today is my birthday, and I want them to start being from my birthday to my birthday so it's every year of my life, instead of just some arbitrary date in April! I haven't even really thought much about the second book because I've been so busy with fight, but I'll try to get it done in July. I hate working on books forever and them coming out at practically the same time! SHEESH

FIGHT news and daddy's day

THATS RIGHT YOU GUYS! Fight won a XERIC GRANT!

That means whenever I finish this gosh darned comic, the Xeric foundation is going to pay for printing! The final book is going to be 80 pages long and have a spine! It will be 4.5" x 5.75" (weird size!). I'm so pumped for this, it's a dream come true!

Oh and Happy Fathers Day to all the dads!

MY EYE: the Samantha Strips

That was me this past weekend. Painfully sitting on the couch with my eyes closed.

Last thursday night Samantha accidentally poked my eye, really REALLY bad. I could barely sleep that night and went to an optometrist friday morning where he literally SHAVED A PART OF MY EYEBALL OFF with a beard-trimmer looking thing. He said it was one of the worst corneal abrasions he had ever seen and gave me a patch.

So for the rest of the weekend I couldn't even open my good eye because it would just hurt my bad eye. On monday I could finally start opening my good eye enough to watch tv, and I also had my patch replaced with a bandage contact, which is way more comfortable, but didn't soak up the puss (which was annoying). By tuesday I started feeling a lot better and could finally start opening my bad eye. My vision is still blurred, but it doesn't really hurt as bad today, and the doctors said I can remove my contact tomorrow.

The best part of my weekend was having Samantha do everything I say, like making cookies, and more importantly, doing my comic when I couldn't:

I felt well enough to do my strip yesterday though:

So it was a pretty crazy weekend. I did still manage to sell (and draw in, see pic below, haha) a comic though. Have you guys bought the Burning yet? it's only $1!

Finally, I'll leave you with a video of Greege spinning:

Greege prank and THE BURNING

Greege has had something in her eye yesterday. It was pretty cute:

AND ALSOOOOOOO here's me and JON'S new book! It's called 'THE BURNING: a childhood memories comic.''

We each tell a 10 page story about a time we bought some lighters and burned a stack of free newspapers when we were little kids! It's fun to see what we remember differently. Here's the first two pages of my story:

And here's the first two pages of Jon's story:

This was a super fun comic to make, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! It's also the first comic that I drew with a nib.

And the best part is, it's only ONE DOLLAR! You can buy it from me RIGHT HERE, and I'm sure Jon will put it on HIS SITE pretty soon! Jon also has a new art zine that he should be putting in his store soon, so maybe wait until they're both up so you can buy them ALLLLLLLLLLL.
