freak out and marker test

This Saturday, if I can get off work... I'm going to be participating in 24 hour comics day in Boulder! If you haven't heard about it, it's where you draw one page every hour for 24 hours! Samantha bought me some awesome markers on her trip so I was thinking about using them for it. Here's my test page:

They didn't really say any of that stuff in the last panel, well, maybe they did it was too loud to hear. They definitely said something. But the guy really did throw up the 'rock n roll' horns after all his friends said something. And also he said it when the opening band played, not Tennis. I just really wanted to draw the girl from Tennis's hair.

I recently made an illustration for a 2.25" button of Roald Dahl for a local anthology group called Cellar Door! I also made a 3 page comic for their upcoming anthology called 'One' which should be out really soon, but more on that later. For now, check out my button!

Victore and a jam comic

It was really incredible to see James Victore talk about his new book and his work. Very inspiring.

I went with my fellow designer/cartoonist friend Lonnie Allen. Afterwords we got a few drinks and made this little jam comic in my pocket sketchbook. I just want to say, this is in no way supposed to be James Victore, I just thought he was an interesting looking guy and doodled him, and it just started from there. This comic is entirely fictional and any resemblance to anyone, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Seriously.

I need to start being either less lazy with my backgrounds or just start simplifying them to a few lines. I also need to figure out a way to draw me and Samantha better, I was playing around with drawing my (very prominent) chin, but i didn't like how it looked. Still, this isn't working.

Oh yeah, and my gamertag is now slam stinger. Add me so I can destroy you in Halo!

And also, I painted another skateboard! It's for an upcoming skate deck art show (those are kinda played out, i know...) called BORDO BELLO which I think is September 28th here in Denver. Last year Jim Mahfood had a deck there (that i bought), so I'm excited to see who might have one there this year.

Welp I'm back from my Cola trip, so time to start updating again! I'm too lazy to scan in all the comics though, so here's this to warm you up for some Columbia trip mega posts. Before I left I painted some blank vinyl toys! Here are the two I made:
